To the Lebanese Diaspora… -By: Paul Accari

“Dear Expats,
As you are aware, the lay of the land in “the land of Cedars” is not hopeful and Lebanon is heading towards total chaos. Our nation is being driven to societal, cultural, economic, and financial collapse by the criminal and corrupt to the bones “Lebanese Mafia Gang”. The Lebanese people are “robbed of any hope for a better future.”
As his Holiness the Pope lately addressed the Lebanese people: “It is even more painful to see you deprived of your precious aspirations to live in peace and to continue being, for our time and our world, a message of freedom and a witness to harmonious coexistence.” That gang turned our mission to a message of corruption, criminality, and evil.
Fellow expats, we have arrived at this situation because the leading democracies, under the leadership of the United States of America, turned the Lebanese people down by failing to secure the implementation of the Taif Agreement and the Lebanese Constitution in their entirety including the stipulated reforms. Then, by contracting, once, Lebanon to the Syrian regime of the “Axis of Resistance”, coupled with the inability of the International community to effectively implement the armistice agreement of 1949 and UN resolutions 1559, 1680, 1701 led to the rise of Hezbollah and its perfidious allies allowing the “Wilayet al-Faqih” to subjugate Lebanon.
Over the years, among other influential states, Israel, Syria, Palestine and Iran destabilizing activities against Lebanon, with the support of their proxies, fueled the disintegration of the Lebanese State. Today, Lebanon is torn apart between Syria, Israel and Iran hostile and evil transgressions. It seems this Lebanon is destined to always pay the price for the geo-political conflicts in this part of the world. If evil things continue, it will happen today, and tomorrow, and forever.
As you know, we are a nation of multi-confessional communities interacting through “unity in diversity” seeking peace, equality, dignity, justice, and freedom. We are the only nation is history that was looted to the last penny by its ruling clique whereby the uprising of 17 October 2019 insisted on the complete implementation of the constitution and the unbiased judgment of those responsible for the sorrows of the Lebanese people.
With your determination and the pressure that you are able to exert on the leaders and governments of the democratic world and the friends of Lebanon, we are aspiring for a new Lebanon of “renewal and resolve”. The USA, as it is aiming to work with democratic partners to advance its shared vision and values, peace, and shared prosperity around the world, must strive to help our distressed nation, the only precious democracy in the region, to “resume a normal existence” and enabling it to fully achieve its potential as a unifying agent in the Middle East and to regain its status as the “Switzerland of the East”.
You are asked, by all means, to exert your utmost pressure and influence not to allow the re-contracting of Lebanon to any nation and especially Iran and or its militias on the ground. It is to be noted, that within the context of the current crisis, any upcoming elections, and the formation of any government under the control of the same clique is useless and perilous that will allow Iran to completely control Lebanon. Accordingly, you must be the efficient catalyst to drive the United Nations and the International Community to recognize and declare that Lebanon has become a failed state and to be placed under international trusteeship until a new national agreement is peacefully produced and implemented that allows all components to live in dignity, stability, and security.
Hence, with your efforts and determination, we ask that an “International Court of Corruption” be formed under the auspice of the United Nation to bring the “Lebanese Mafia Gang” to justice and make them pay for their atrocities and force them and their descendants to return the stolen funds, assets, and monies to the people of Lebanon. Likewise, the Beirut explosion, a described crime against humanity, shall be put under International investigation and jurisdiction.
Finally, we impose on your kindness, fellow expats, to ask on behalf of the Lebanese people and future generations for a generous humanitarian gesture from the great American people to the Lebanese people: two turn-key power-plant generators to be designed, built, and operated by a renowned company of their choice. This is mainly to curb the colossal deficit that is draining the Lebanese treasury and inflicted by the theft and mismanagement of the electricity sector.
We do hope that this letter reaches you and that you take all necessary actions to save our beloved country and restore it as a free democratic, prosperous, and sustainable country living in harmony with its neighbors.
Time is of essence and let us make the change happen”.
