Let’s help provide food to needy families in Lebanon
Jabalna Magazine - Los Angeles
A campaign entitled Feed the Hungry in Lebanon (FHL) officially launched last month and it needs your contributions.
“When someone in your family is hungry, you feed them. The people of Lebanon are part of my family,” said Ferris Wehbe, a Rotarian and the U.S. campaign manager for FHL.
The Lebanese Food Bank is working in collaboration with multiple non-profits including the Beirut Cedars Rotary Club, the LA Cedars Rotary Club, Los Angeles-Beirut Sister City, and the World Lebanese Cultural Union to distribute boxes packed with food throughout Lebanon.
These groups came together to support Lebanese families before the spread of COVID-19. All contributions will be donated to the Lebanese Food Bank. This money will purchase enough ingredients per box to feed a family of four over an entire month.
The supply chain is made up of dedicated volunteers who purchase, package, sort, disinfect, and distribute nourishment to families in need across the country.
Each month’s supply of food for a family of four costs $35 USD. To donate, please click on this link:

“To date, we have purchased 4,000 food boxes. That’s 4,000 families that won’t go hungry for a whole month,” said Ron Farra, Board Member of the Lebanon Food Bank.
To further promote the initiative, “we will be video recording some of our food deliveries. There are real people benefitting from this program. It helps to show the world the difference this is making”, according to Farra.
Although this started in Los Angeles, donors from across the United States are joining in on the effort. “The Rotarians have a motto: Service Above Self!” said Wehbe, “yalla, we all need to believe in this motto more than ever before.”
